Oswald Chambers in his daily devotional spoke of clouds and darkness. He said that after we have the delight of knowing what Christ does, the impenetrable darkness of who He is comes over us (Ps. 97:2). But then he goes on to say that while the Bible has been so many words to us (clouds and darkness), when we most need it, Jesus re-speaks them in ways we can understand, exactly for our time and need (blue skies, sun, clearings). I tried to express that in this piece as the layers of the days we live in the walk of faith - sun, clouds, clear, and fog.
